Today was a sea of purple on Penn Ave as our neighborhood is getting a fresh dab of paint. Everywhere you looked from S. Millvale to Winebiddle there were volunteers wearing purple shirts with paint brushes and paint rollers.  Pittsburgh Cares in conjunction with Most Wanted Art and AASHE (Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education) came together to spruce up the facade of several buildings.

AASHE is holding their annual conference on October 9-12th at the David L Lawrence Convention Center downtown.  Part of their ongoing mission is to provide sustainability in higher education throughout our country.  Special thanks is in order for Most Wanted Fine Art who worked together with Pittsburgh Cares to organize today’s event with attendees from AASHE.

Just a dab of paint makes such a huge difference in the continual effort to bring this block back to life.
